Beginner’s Bridge
New Beginners course starting 14th July 2025 from 7 – 9pm for seven weeks
The course will run on Monday evenings, 7.00-9.00pm, at Quaker Meeting House, Blackheath, SE3 9LJ.
We recognise that this time of year is not ideal as people often take some time away during the summer. We will therefore be running the course over seven sessions, rather than the usual six, for the same price. This will mean that if anyone is away, there will be plenty of opportunity to catch-up.
We will not have a session on the August Bank Holiday, which means the course will run on the following dates: 14th July; 21st July; 28th July; 4th August; 11th August; 18th August and 1st September
The cost is £130 for the seven sessions. If you miss any sessions, we will have time to catch-up. But you are also welcome to attend a drop-in at the club on Wednesday afternoons to make up the session missed.
Improver’s Bridge
New Improvers Bridge course starts 9 April 2025 from 3.45 – 5.45pm for 10 weeks
This course assumes a basic knowledge of bridge, so is suitable for Improvers, or for those rusty players who would like a refresher of the basics.
The course includes theoretical lessons, updates and consolidations on bidding and play, and plenty of practical experience playing hands at the table. Topics include: Leads and Signalling, Losing Trick Count, Opener Rebid and Reverses.
Intermediate Bridge
Intermediate Bridge course starts 9 April 2025 from 1.15 – 3.15pm for 10 weeks
Our Intermediate course is for those who can already play bridge and have some experience. The course is ten weeks long and the lessons will comprise a mixture of a theoretical teaching on Conventions and card play together with a chance to play and practice the skills learned with specially prepared deals. We also invite guest bridge experts to teach a lesson two or three times per term. Also included are consolidations and supervised play practice. Upcoming topics include Splinters and Best Defence.
All our courses include very friendly people, so a chance to make new friends too!
Bridge lessons will be fun and stress free!
Cost: Each course costs £130 per 10 week term (including half term break) payable in advance. Contact us to book a place.

Continuers Bridge course starts 7 April 2025 from 7pm to 9pm for 10 weeks
For those bridge players who can’t make a daytime session, we also run a weekly Monday evening ‘Continuers’ course. This is a similar level to our Wednesday Improvers course -aimed at those who know the basics, or those rusty players who need a refresher, our Continuers course is taught by Stuart Watkin.
£130 per ten-week course. £16 per one off drop-in session. Contact us for further information.
Beginners’ course at your place!
We might also be available to offer a Beginners Course at your place or our place if you or we manage to find 3-4 people. Following this, players can sign up to Monday evening or Wednesday afternoons at the club.
